Our names are Jake Polzin, President and Toomas Mitt, Founder of TBG Technologies, an IT support company since 2004. The reason TBG Technologies exists is that we believe small companies are ignored. We are talking about the really small businesses. Those with ten or fewer employees usually get the short end of the stick when it comes to technology support. They have the same goals as big corporations. They have the same technology issues. But they have a tough time getting good, reliable help. When I was a kid many years ago, one of my favorite cartoons was The Jetsons. They were right up there with the Three Stooges, The Beverly Hillbillies, and of course, Bozo the clown. I didn't know it then, but The Jetsons were equal parts prophecy and animation. I doubt if Hanna-Barbera realized it at the time - they were just trying to extend the success of The Flintstones. It was a different time, the early 60's. Back then the promise of technology was bright and fresh, with the reality of space travel, robots, and computers considered just a matter of time. The Apollo moon project was moving along with great fanfare and celebration as each milestone was seemingly inevitable. Mankind was the beneficiary of this unstoppable movement towards smart technology and automation for the masses. We all knew it was just a matter of time before we traveled to Mars and even beyond. That optimism flowed through all of us. Of course, things didn't turn out exactly that way. It is a cliché now to wonder what happened to the flying cars we should have by now. But so much has come true that I am declaring we are living in the "Jetson Revolution." Today, we are beginning to regain that sense of technological inevitability. Is there anyone who really thinks that driverless cars won't be a reality very soon? You can already buy a car that parks itself, warns you when you begin to stray out of your lane, and stops you from crashing into the car in front of you. In the 60's, video phones were a dream of World Fairs and cartoonists. Today, Facetime, Skype, and Facebook have made that a commonplace reality for anyone with a smartphone. In the US, that is at least 77% of adults as of 2018. No one thinks twice about making a phone call to anyone in the world while sipping their latte in a coffee house in front of their laptop watching cat videos and dashcam crashes. Lots of people talk about how Star Trek was prophetic and correctly predicted smartphones, tablet computers, and more. But Star Trek began 4 years after The Jetsons. In fact, Star Trek debuted 3 years after the last prime-time Jetsons episode. I don't think there are any programs out there today that are as prophetic as The Jetsons. I wonder which of their predictions we will see next? I expect Rosie the Robot Maid before the flying car. I want that flying car!
