MAPLE VALLEY, WA — A 15-year-old girl facing a second-degree murder charge from a July crash may have seriously injured another pedestrian in a separate hit-and-run, according to King County investigators.
The teen is accused of intentionally hitting a jogger, Gregory Moore, 53, then leaving him to die from his injuries in a ditch along Southeast 216th Street in Maple Valley on July 18. She was taken into custody in early September after her father turned her over to authorities in SeaTac, officials said. King County prosecutors filed second-degree murder and felony hit-and-run charges on Sept. 14.
In a news release Monday, the King County Sheriff's Office said detectives found evidence suggesting the teen hit a different pedestrian near Des Moines or SeaTac on or before July 17. The sheriff's office attached an image of the victim, appearing to be from cell phone footage.
"The adult white man, pictured below, is believed to have been struck by the same gray Toyota Camry one or two days before Greg's July death," the sheriff's office wrote. "It is likely this man sustained serious injuries or lacerations after being struck by the passenger side of the sedan. His identity and whereabouts remain unknown to detectives as they continue their work in this open and active investigation."
(King County Sheriff's Office) Detectives urge anyone with information that can help identify the man in the photo to contact the sheriff's office at 206-296-3311 and reference case "C21022337." Anonymous tips may also be submitted via Crime Stoppers Puget Sound.
