REDMOND, WA — The city of Redmond will fully replace the swimming dock at Idylwood Park in mid-October, aiming to improve the aquatic habitat and make the structure compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. According to the city, the new dock will replace the existing wood structure with an aluminum one of the same size, featuring a new swim ladder and new fishing handrails up to ADA guidelines. The old dock was constructed back in the 1970s and is at "the end of its useful life," officials said. Work is scheduled to begin in mid-October and will take up to two weeks to remove the old dock and install the new structure.
