VIRGINIA — CVS Health will be looking to fill 25,000 clinical and retail jobs across the country during a one-day hiring event on Friday, according to a release on Monday. The hiring event comes as CVS prepares for an expected increase in COVID-19 vaccinations and testing, as well as the start of flu season during the fall and winter. The majority of positions the company is seeking to fill are full-time, part-time and temporary licensed pharmacists, nurses and trained pharmacy technicians for its CVS Pharmacy store locations. These employees would not only help administer the flu vaccine, but they would also administer COVID-19 booster shots once they are approved. CVS Health will also be hiring candidates to work as retail associates, who can provide services and assist customers, as well as managing inventory. "Every flu season we need additional team members, but this year we're looking for even more," said Neela Montgomery, executive vice president of CVS Health and president of CVS Pharmacy, in a release. "With the continued presence of COVID-19 in our communities, we're estimating a much greater need for pharmacists, trained pharmacy technicians, nurses, and retail store associates. These jobs offer a rewarding opportunity to really make an impact on public health in our country." To date, CVS Health has administered over 34 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and conducted more than 32 million tests. People looking to schedule a COVID-19 test or vaccination can do so on the company's website. Qualified candidates are invited to apply for one of the open positions by texting "CVS" to 25000 on their mobile devices or visiting the CVS Health Career Website.
