Description

Free outdoor dog training classes Saturday mornings starting October 2nd at 11am, various outdoor locations within ~5 miles of Kenmore. Hi, I’m experienced at raising puppies for service work and training dogs in basic/advanced obedience. I’m putting together a series of free obedience training classes for the neighborhood. Good dogs make good neighbors! I'm not selling anything, ever (see "why free" below.) We will be meeting at various outdoor spots – you bring your dog, training treats, and a commitment to doing the best for your dog. I will bring the training agenda, teach a short class, and you use your own training style to practice onsite while I can help guide you along. The dogs WILL NOT be interacting with each other. This is a training class, not a play session. Why free? Every dog should learn obedience training around other dogs, so when you go out with your dog somewhere the normally under-control behavior doesn't go haywire when he sees another dog. That can only be conditioned if you train your dog on basic obedience around other dogs: learning to ignore them and pay attention to you. I have a brand new puppy I'm training, and we need other dogs around. And you really need your dog to listen to you outside, with all the sights and sounds and distractions of real life, not inside a training hall. We are currently raising a new puppy and want him to get this experience. If you want a well-behaved dog who behaves anywhere, this is a good foundation to have. I will teach you what I know about training dogs and give suggestions based on your dog's behavior. My wife will be handling our puppy, and I'll be floating around. Absolutely no contact between dogs or people please, and this will be held outdoors rain or shine (yes, because dogs need to listen to you in the rain also.) We'll both be wearing masks, of course. Dogs of any age are welcome! Please no aggressive dogs. All dogs on leash at all times. Please reply with: Dog breed (or closest guess!) Approximate dog age Any prior obedience training? We'll reply back with the schedule. Thanks! - Dave
