Here are the top stories in Des Moines today: A bicyclist is dead after being struck by vehicle in Urbandale. 55-year-old Eric Christopher Lindberg of Des Moines was riding on Meredith Drive around 7:15 a.m. Sunday when he was hit. Police say the accident remains under investigation. No charges have been filed. (KGAN TV)About 20 parents and students gathered outside the Learning Resource Center in West Des Moines holding signs that read "parental choice." The group was protesting the school district's mask mandate and want the right to choose if their children wear masks in school to protect themselves and others from COVID-19. (KCCI Des Moines)Iowa's Latino Heritage Festival is happening Sept. 25-26, 2021 in Western Gateway Park and will feature art exhibits, food, and musical performances that celebrate the positive influences of Latinos on Iowa and its communities.
