Paper Shredding Event Planned In Long Valley For Oct. 9

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Washington Township residents have the benefit of a paper shredding event coming up, with up to six banker size boxes allowed for shredding. The event is scheduled on Saturday, Oct. 9 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the DPW on 54 Rock Road, for Washington Township residents only, who must bring proof of residency with them when dropping their paper off. Three of those boxes can be shredded at no cost, with the three remaining at $10 per box. Every box needs a special sticker, available from the DPW starting on Oct. 4, their hours of operation during the week from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Paper for shredding doesn't need to have staples removed, but paper clips and binders must be. Newspaper, junk mail, books and magazines cannot be shredded and instead, must be recycled at the recycling center, between 8 a.m. and noon on Saturdays.
