Bluegrass music is back at western Kentucky's premiere outdoor festival.
Canceled last year due to COVID, fans were ready once again to enjoy the outdoor festival when the bands took to the stage at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro Thursday afternoon.
Marta Phelps of Owensboro says she and her family have attended several festivals. She says she's just happy to be back at ROMP and is willing to accept the COVID mitigation measures.
"It was a little tough at first to hear about it, but it's one of those things that, if that's the only way you can come, get the test and come."
ROMP attendees must present proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test.
ROMP runs through Saturday. Headliners include Dan Tyminski, Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers and the Infamous String Dusters.
Latin music and the smell of pupusas and gorditas filled Bosse Field on Saturday.
