SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The number of people tested for HIV at some San Francisco clinics has declined since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has health officials concerned.
The Mission Neighborhood Health Center is offering free HIV testing each Wednesday for the next month.
The tests will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 22 and 29, and Oct. 6 and 13. The tests will be administered in the parking lot at 240 Shotwell St. No appointment is necessary. Bilingual staff is available to serve patients.
COVID-19 vaccines and COVID-19 tests are also available by appointment and to walk-ins.
The free testing coincides with Hispanic Heritage Month which is celebrated from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
