ROMEOVILLE, IL — Final plans for a cremation center were approved at Romeoville's Village Board meeting on Wednesday. The Care Cremation Center will be at 33 E. Montrose Drive, east of Route 53, Community Development Director Josh Potter said.
Potter said the facility currently operates at 515 Anderson Drive, and this would be a new stand-alone facility built from the ground-up on Montrose Drive.
According to board documents, the building will be 10,800 square feet, and will include viewing rooms, witness rooms and a pet cremation area. The lot does back up to residential areas, and a 100-foot setback will be provided, board documents state.
"For a difficult thing to talk about sometimes, [Care Cremation Center does] an outstanding job and provides quality service," Mayor John Noak said. "They've been an excellent partner for a number of years, and [I'm] glad that they're investing again."
