PHILADELPHIA — A man has turned himself in to Philadelphia police in connection with a fatal beating outside Pat's King of Steaks last week, according to reports.
Action News reports the man's identity is unknown and that he will be interviewed by homicide detectives in connection with the fatal beating of 28-year-old Isidro Cortez, of Queens, New York.
The incident marked the second killing in as many mothers outside the popular cheesesteak joint, as a man was shot in the back and killed in August.
While one man is in custody, arrest warrants have been issued for Osvaldo "Willia" Pedraza, 34, and Victor Pedraza, 32 in connection with the attack, which occurred at about 1:56 a.m. Thursday, Fox 29 reports.
They are charged with murder, attempt to commit murder, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, simple assault and other related offenses, NBC10 reports.
The beating also left Cortez's father and friend injured.
Cortez, his dad, and friend, were at the business when they and a group of men got into an argument.
Pat's owner Frank Olivieri told Philadelphia Magazine that all seemed fine but then the men's body language changed.
"One person stands up and cold-cocks another," he said.
During the brawl, one of the attackers grabbed a metal trash can lid, striking Cortez with it.
Cortez reportedly fell to the ground and other men started punching and kicking him.
The attacking group was wearing jerseys featuring the colors of Mexican side Club America, which played the Union in Chester Wednesday.
The attackers left the area in a white SUV and headed north on East Passyunk Avenue.
In the wake of the incident, Olivieri and Geno's owner Geno Vento asked authorities for a late-night police detail.
