ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving a neighbor dispute, a co-worker being attacked, a jewelry sale under investigation, domestic disturbances and road rage, among other incidents. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: Neighbor dispute Police responded to a neighbor dispute about 8 a.m. Friday in the 500 block of North Emroy Avenue. The neighbors said they were in an argument. They were issued no-trespass notices and advised to have no further contact with each other. Co-worker attacked A woman told police she was repeatedly battered and pushed by a co-worker on the afternoon of Aug. 6 at Jewel, 944 S. York St. The suspect denied the allegation. The case is pending further investigation. Sale under investigation A person told police that counterfeit gold necklaces were sold at American Eagle Jewelry & Coin, 538 W. North Ave., about 4 p.m. Tuesday. The incident was reported two days later. The case is pending an investigation. Domestic disturbances Police responded to a domestic dispute about 5 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of South Prospect Avenue. The victim said a bedroom door was closed on her left thumb during an argument. The victim reported no injuries. Police responded to a domestic dispute about 11:30 p.m Sunday in the 1100 block of Eldridge Lane. The suspect kicked the door to the house and broke it. The suspect was not there when officers arrived. A warrant is being sought for the suspect on a charge of criminal damage to property. Road rage A person reported a road rage incident happened about 2:30 p.m. Thursday at York and Butterfield. A suspect threw a hammer at the person's car, causing damage. An investigation is pending.Another road rage incident took place about 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Route 83 and St. Charles. Four youths flashed gang signs. Their car was found, and the occupants were found not wearing seatbelts. The occupants said the driver of a white van tried to merge into their lane, but there was no room. When they passed the van. An unknown object was thrown at their driver's window. The youths were cited on charges of failure to wear seatbelts. They were released to their parents. Bicycles found Two bicycles were left unlocked and in poor condition Thursday in the 100 block of Schiller Street. The bikes were placed into evidence. Threatening messages A resident in the 100 block of North Melrose Avenue informed police she received threatening text messages from a person on Thursday afternoon. She said she would try to get a restraining order against the suspect. Car scratched A woman told police that the passenger side of her car was scratched between 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Thursday in a parking lot outside a business in the 200 block of North York Street. Damage to house A resident on Windsor Drive told police that a group of youths damaged a plastic window well between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. He said he did not see the youths, but heard them pounding on his windows and doors. Fugitives Officers tried to stop two vehicles about 4 a.m Friday at Interstate 290 and St. Charles Road. They were believed to have been involved in several ATM burglaries in other jurisdictions. The vehicles – both Jeep Grand Cherokees, one white, the other black – sped away, last seen traveling east on I-290.A suspicious vehicle was parked in a parking lot about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at 130 W. Butterfield Road. The vehicle and driver were identified as being wanted by Oakbrook Terrace police. An officer approached the vehicle, but the suspect backed up into the front of the officer's car and sped away. The suspect was later apprehended by Downers Grove police and is facing charges of obstructing a police officer and fleeing and eluding. Porch piracy A witness saw a person steal a package from a neighbor's porch about 12:30 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of South Linden Avenue. The suspects were found and taken to the police station, where they were fingerprinted and photographed. Charges are pending the identification of additional victims. Extinguisher thrown A fire extinguisher was thrown off a parking deck and struck a vehicle overnight Thursday in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue. Woman falls A woman said she did not step high enough over the curb that separated the street from the sidewalk, so she tripped. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. The incident was shorty before 3 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Park Avenue.
