CHICAGO — A woman who was struck by a CTA Brown Line train Monday morning has been pronounced dead, according to Chicago police.
The 75-year-old woman was at the Kedzie Avenue station on the city's Northwest Side when she was hit by the train around 8:45 a.m. Officials said she was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
CTA Brown Line service northbound and southbound was paused between Kimball and Belmont avenues, according to the Chicago Transit Authority.
Last week, a 25-year-old man was fatally struck by a Red Line train at the Morse station.
As of Monday afternoon, officials had not yet released the woman's name or information on how she was struck.
