BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The Federal Bureau of Investigations has under fire for their seizure of hundreds of people's assets from safe deposit boxes in Beverly Hills, the Los Angeles Times reported. Agents are trying to take $86 million dollars in cash and valuable items like jewelry and metals from U.S. Private Vaults, located at 9182 West Olympic Boulevard. The FBI has long suspected the storage spot was being used by criminals, but their raid has proven largely unsuccessful in finding criminal activity, the Los Angeles Times reported. Around 300 of the 800 individuals who had money and valuables seized are contesting the confiscations in court. Many of them have had their assets taken on weak ties to crime, the Los Angeles Times reported, like the use of rubber bands to store cash and drug dogs smelling narcotics on money.
