I always wondered what possessed people to work in the Bay Area (high wages), but live in Tracy/Stockton/Modest/Sacto. (cheaper homes). When you are young, you can deal with 3 hrs. stuck in traffic every day. I have seen crippling recessions in 1980/1990/2000/2008. My parents survived the Great Depression. It was not pretty. Coming of age during an economic downturn alters your psyche. I think we are in the Mother of all bubbles. Even the wealthy will not emerge this unscathed.
