Description
Primary Duties: • Keep a reasonable flow of meat products going through the smokehouses and deep fryers • Required to lift, push, and pull products to maintain a reasonable flow of raw materials to produce finished products • Smoke, cook and fry raw products using our traditional process which requires extensive attention to detail • Responsible for constantly checking product temperatures as well as smokehouses to ensure products comply with requirements • Responsible for rotating raw and finished products regularly to meet daily production needs Secondary Duties: • Use good manufacturing practices for food handling • Maintain a clean and sanitary workplace • Perform other related duties and assignments as required • All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production Physical Requirements: • Capability to stand in one place for 80% of the shift (8+ hours per day) • Capability to walk throughout department for 20% of the shift (8+ hours per day) • Capability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a frequent basis • Capability to push and pull racks in excess of 400 lbs. • Requires the frequent use of both hands and arms • Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the shift (8+ hours per day) Working Conditions/Physical Environment • Due to refrigeration that is required for the products, the room temperature is maintained at a temperature between 28 degrees (F) and 34 degrees (F), therefore candidates must be able to work in this environment constantly throughout the shift (8+ hours per day) • Due to high temperatures in the smokehouses, the room temperatures can reach up to 120 degrees (F) for limited periods of time when removing finished product Equipment and Machinery Used • Racks Basic Job Requirements: • Must be 18 years of age or older • Must have reliable transportation • Must be United States citizen or authorized to work in the United States • Must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background check • Must be able to read and comprehend English • Must know basic mathematic skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division for purposes of a proper count of product and to ensure that proper temperatures are being applied based on quantities of products being cooked • Position requires some computer skills to monitor the smokehouses Desired Job Requirements: • Prior experience in food and beverage manufacturing • Prior experience working in a cold environment • Basic computer skills There are 3 shift available: 1st - 6am 2nd - 3:30 pm 3rd - 10pm/11pm **If you are interested you can reach out to (301)-395-5815 via text/call.
