Want to Adopt Small Young Dog

I am looking to adopt a small young healthy dog to be a companion. I am at home so he/she would get plenty of attention. I also like to walk so exercise too. There is just myself and my husband, no kids, no other pets. No puppies. Male or female. Would prefer spayed or neutered. Housebroken would be great. I am willing to pay a decent rehoming fee. Nothing in the thousands. I have tried rescues with no luck. Every time I go to an event, they are already adopted. I have looked on the Animal Foundation website many times, but every time I call, they are already adopted. So those options are not working out very well. Please let me know if you need to rehome. Thank you.
