Description

The warehouse manager directs receiving, warehousing, and distribution services to ensure that: 1) inbound and outbound shipments meet specifications and 2) inventory is processed according to schedule. Duties include supervising staff, preparing schedules for warehouse associates, training employees on how to use machinery and monitoring compliance with safety standards. Maintains and updates food safety documentation in compliance with good agricultural practices. Warehouse Manager Job Duties • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by managing operational procedures, scheduling and assigning employees. • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions. • Maintains food safety standards and safeguards warehouse operations by maintaining and establishing best-in-class procedures and protocols. • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with supply chain software. • Maintains efficient operations by planning and implementing new strategies as needed. • Schedules and assigns team members to ensure orders are picked, checked and loaded into delivery vehicles or ready for pick-up with necessary documents, in conjunction with schedules maintaining a minimum accuracy rate of 95%. • Trains new employees on the proper use and maintenance of equipment and facilities utilized in the performance of their jobs. Follows up to ensure results are achieved. • Manages staffing requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing business conditions. • Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists team members in solving problems. • Maintains staffing levels by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. • Develops and motivates staff by coaching, monitoring, and appraising job results. • Confers with other supervisors and managers to coordinate activities of the department. • Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to plant manager. • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Warehouse Manager Skills and Qualifications BA in business or equivalent is preferred. Minimum 3+ years of warehouse and supervisory experience required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft suite of products. Ability to lift 65 lbs., bend, stand and sit for long periods of time.
