Description
Part time - three to four days a week.. 3-4 hours in the mornings. Currently start at 7:30 until it cools off, then 8 am. Nineteen year old Gypsy Horse breeding ranch and Veteran Therapy program... and exotic sheep breeding. Busy ranch working with foals and yearlings primarily. ALL horses here are well handled from birth. Trailer loading, leading over obstacles, voice commands. All are drop dead safe because of constant handling. I'm having rotator cuff surgery in a few short weeks so need an additional person to work with the horses ALONGSIDE ME (no riding, all in hand), training, grooming, braiding, and all normal barn chores. Clients and Veterans come out to visit so must be professional. Also, breed exotic cool sheep (I'll teach that part).
Although I have my own teaching methods that we've used for 19 years, I seriously need someone with STRONG common sense horse skills. (Not "I had a pony when I was young." or " I worked Summers on my Grandfather's ranch.") Occasional parades, open house, and other fun events. MUST be professional in front of Veterans and clients.
MUST be at least 21. MUST have reliable transportation. MUST live within 20 minutes of Western Burleson. MUST start soon as rotator cuff surgery is in three weeks. MUST have a working alarm clock. No young children responsibilities who will take priority over work please.
It's a FUN, DRAMA FREE environment.... but we do work. Compensation hourly DEPENDING ON SKILLS.
Please respond with NAME, LOCATION, PHONE NUMBER, and WHY YOU FIT THIS POSITION. "Because you like animals" isn't necessarily a fit :) If you have a Facebook page, please send the link too. Thanks
