Description

Olive is a 2.5 yr old, seal-colored lab/pit mix that is a great dog- We've had her since she was a puppy, got her from the humane society in 2019. As she's grown, she no longer gets along with our other dog consistently and so we are hoping to find her a new home where she can be the the only pup in the house. Olive is most happy curled up in your space while getting head scratches or belly rubs. She is a champ on a run or hike. We have a young child at home and she has never shown any aggression toward her or any other person including strangers, despite all the ear tugging and hugs you can imagine a 4-year-old might bring. Olive has a gentle demeanor and knows her commands- sit, come, lay, wait, leave it, etc. As a puppy she went through two levels of puppy training and did great. She is not great on a leash if other dogs are around, and gets nervous around other dogs she doesn't know, but for us that means we just step off the trail and let the other folks go by. In our efforts to rehome her, we have decided to take that on ourselves but were able to have a behavioral assessment done on her and in their words, "An ideal home for Olive would be one without other pets, a securely fenced-in yard in a low traffic neighborhood. She would likely thrive in a home without another dog. Olive may do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand the basics of dogs but since she has had a positive history with your 4-year-old I wouldn’t be overly concerned about her in a home with a young child if the parents understand the importance of active supervision." Please reach out with any questions you may have, happy to share more info and will have some questions, and we can arrange a meet up if you are interested. Asking $100 rehoming fee which will be donated to a local animal shelter.
