Well, despite our combined best efforts, I still managed to miss lunch with my dad unfortunately. Long story short, no working phone + a big Walmart parking lot spells disaster for a timed meeting. Managed to find a way to get myself home eventually without needing to beg (though I came close to resorting to that lol), but yeah it was not the best afternoon to say the least. Oh well, lesson learned I suppose. I'm glad you were there to help me navigate things though even with the overall outcome, it was appreciated. Hope the rest of your travels went smoother than mine did and that you got home safe. It was nice to meet you. :)
