Join us for a family-friendly Story Hour at the taproom! Congresswoman Sharice Davids will be reading her book "Sharice's Big Voice." Join us for a family-friendly Story Hour at the taproom! The inaugural event will kick off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25 and will feature U.S. Congresswoman Sharice Davids (D-Kansas) reading her newly-published children’s book “Sharice’s Big Voice.” In 2018, Davids, a member of the Ho-Chunk Tribe, became one of the first two Native American women elected to Congress. Davids is also the first openly LGBTQ+ person to represent Kansas. “Sharice’s Big Voice: A Native Kid Becomes a Congressperson” is a featured book at the 2021 National Book Festival, which will be held this year from Sept. 17 - 26. The book was also named to the Wee Read’s 2021 Ultimate List of Diverse Books. Pre-order a signed copy of Sharice's Big Voice! You'll pick-up and pay for the book on-site.
