Description

Blue Blaze is proud to team up with CMC to sponsor our first Trail Maintenance Volunteer Event followed by group camping. Blue Blaze will be joining Carolina Mountain Club for their quarterly work day event on the Big Bald section of the Appalachian Trail. We will be giving back to our trail community by repairing damage to the trail and helping to build a more sustainable trail for the future. Afterwards, Blue Blaze invites you to join us for an evening of camping on Big Bald, one of the most beautiful and iconic spots along the whole AT. Blue Blaze will be providing beer for all volunteers (ages 21+). In case of less than ideal weather, we will have the option to camp in our cars nearby. Who can join: This event is open to all! Anyone 18 years or younger must be accompanied by an adults. We do ask that dogs stay home for this event, though. We want to keep our group size at 15 or less, so PLEASE RSVP THROUGH EVENTBRIGHT. When: We will meet at Blue Blaze at 7:30 AM on Saturday, October 9 to caravan or Carpool to Big Bald (about a 3 hour drive). We will spend several hours working, then pass the evening relaxing and enjoying good company and good beer. We will head home on Sunday morning. What to bring: CMC will provide all tools for trail maintenance. Please bring your own camping equipment, food, and plenty of water. Blue Blaze will provide a few select styles of our beer. Brewers with a hiking problem.  Blue Blaze Brewing offers fresh, full-flavored beer brewed locally in small, artisan handcrafted batches using the freshest ingredients. We will use pesticide-free, locally-sourced ingredients, whenever available.
