Featuring a dialogue between the percussive traditions of Cuba and Puerto Rico interspersed with varied Latin jazz styles, the upcoming album on the Truth Revolution label will be released in late September,  just in time for this performance. After a couple years of steady touring with the Cuban ensemble Orquesta Akokan and a Grammy nomination for the group’s eponymous first album, Eckroth returns to explore the Latin jazz quartet format he staked out with his earlier “Piano and Rhythm” album.
