Description

An interactive two-day workshop to explore our gratitude and grief, help us see with new eyes... and build joyful community along the way. Many of us are feeling sadness and despair in the face of the multiple traumas of environmental destruction and social injustice. The Work That Reconnects offers people a powerful way to explore together the thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and assumptions that are surfacing... and build creative, musical community along the way. This work can help us touch into our deep gratitude for the life we’ve been gifted on this planet, as well as the grief, rage, numbness and fear we experience now as we open our hearts and minds to how threatened it is. It can help us see with new eyes –- and reconnect with ancient ways of seeing our world and ourselves -– so that we can more clearly perceive our paths of response and action, as we find the courage and determination to act on behalf of all life and social justice, even in the face of difficult conditions. This dynamic, interactive two-day workshop is led by trained facilitators Rabbi Mordechai Liebling and Lynne Iser. It is based on the teachings of Joanna Macy, who has inspired many thousands of people to engage whole-heartedly in working for a life-sustaining just society, and is rooted in Jewish values and teachings. Organic, gluten-free, vegetarian lunch provided both days. This is an outdoor gathering. Masking protocols will be based on current guidance. If Oct. 16 + 17 are rainy, the rain date is Oct. 30 + 31. We will meet both Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. It is important that participants commit to the full workshop. Suggested donation is $18-54; no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Pre-registration is required. For questions, please email Vivian at [email protected]. Hosted by Vivian Lehrer and Yoni Stadlin, and sponsored by the Schusterman Family Foundation and Dayenu.
