Here are the top stories in Burlington today: Former residents of St. Joseph's Orphanage are asking the church to fund therapy to recover from abuse at the hands of the nuns and priests who were supposed to care for them. They said that while the diocese has been willing to pay for therapy in some cases, it has only been with therapists of the diocese's choosing. The long-closed Burlington-based orphanage first came under police investigation after a 2018 report that included allegations of murder and abuse. (Associated Press)Vermont will be investing $25 million to redevelop brownfield sites across the state, reported Gov. Phil Scott. Historically, cleanup has been paid for by the Environmental Protection Agency; this marks the first time that state funds are being used for brownfield redevelopment. Sites in Burlington, St. Albans, and Springfield are slated to benefit from this funding.
