Description
Hey there! Forming gothic powerpop stoner outfit w/ shades of emo, noise, jangle, shoe gaze and accidental jazz. Hopefully they’ll be “songs”at heart, and usually have a groove! And they will always be a little weird. I play guitar and can try to( but don’t have to) vocalize. Am fully vaxxed, gainfully employed, and expect all bandmembers to be fully vaxxed also. I have a several songs, some fully developed / performed in public; I am very open to collaborating and maybe using other members’ material. Seeking a solid drummer, dedicated bassist, possibly singer/lyricist and perhaps a synth / co-guitarist to help fill out the sound- project is generally more guitar driven. Someone with at least backup vocal ability is essential. ..I am not a robotic or technical player, nor a fly surgeon. I am open to a bit of improvisation at times- slop remains my forte. Seeking folks who enjoy each others company, live in or very close to N Seattle ( I‘m in Ravenna), and can commit to rehearsing or at least “jamming” usually every 1-2 weeks. This should be fun or else! Times are wacked enough already. No extremists, flakes, drug addicts, prima donnas or practicing alcoholics. A beer or a little puff is fine.. Ideally others can also bring relevant song or lyric material to the table sooner or later. This is not a vanity project. Be prepared to practice material at home as needed. Must have own transpo/gear( I have bass amp at well appointed but small space and soon a premier electronic drum kit, on site. Plan to eventually use/or rent another space with rest of band that accommodates acoustic drums and full volume. **Goal is developing original songs, recording them in “ live” fashion, and maybe play out locally every couple months in times of freedom. Age range ideally 30-60 Some inspirations: Talking Heads, REM, VU, Deerhoof, Joy Division, Smiths, Mac Demarco, Robyn Hitchcock, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, RBCF, Carwyn Ellis, Devo.. You can hear some past stuff in my previous band on FB and: ghostvessels.bandcamp.com If interested, please share some (any) example of your current or past stuff, in any form, for the chance of a response, and thanks for reading:) Brett
