Here are the top stories in Irving today: Tragedy struck in Deep Ellum early Sunday. Authorities report that six people were shot, one fatally, near the intersection of North Malcolm X Boulevard and Main Street. Police say that they believe there were multiple shooters involved. The man who died has been identified as 18-year-old Kenneth Walker. An investigation is ongoing. (WFAA.com) Take a trip to Grapevine to see the new Peace Circle with 11 bronze statues. The display includes Sam Houston and ten Native American chiefs representing the Delaware, Chickasaw, Waco, Tawakoni, Keechi, Caddo, Anadarko, Ionie, Biloxi and Cherokee peoples. The presentation commemorates the 1843 Treaty of Bird's Fort. The installation was officially unveiled September 18. (Community Impact Newspaper) It's trouble for Dallas PD senior corporal William Wayne McLennan, who was arrested for a DWI in Lewisville Saturday. McLennan has worked with Dallas PD since September 2005. Authorities say that he's been placed on administrative leave while his case is investigated.
