Press release from the City of Austin: September 14, 2021 Case: 21-2360258 Time: 6:30 a.m. Date: August 24, 2021 Location: Pearce Lane and Las Alas Trail Deceased: Mary Arencibia, Hispanic female, born March 26, 1954 The Austin Police Department (APD) has identified the deceased in the August 24 fatality as Mary Arencibia. At approximately 6:30 a.m., APD officers responded to the area of Pearce Ln. and Las Alas Trl. for an auto vs. pedestrian collision. The initial investigation shows that a 2014 Hyundai Accent was traveling on Pearce Ln when Mary Arencibia was crossing the street. The Hyundai struck her in the roadway. She was transported to St. David's South Austin Hospital where she later died on September 8, 2021.
