The weather may still be beautiful right now, but remember that Winter is just around the corner! Now may be the perfect time to prepare for the inevitable. Snow WILL come again, and removing it from your property will be just as aggravating as it was in previous years! This gas-powered TORO Snowthrower will make that snow clearing task a little less troublesome. With a 21” wide clearing path, a walkway can be cleared in just a single pass, while a driveway can be cleared in a fraction of the time it would take to do the job by hand. The 2-Stage discharge mechanism is designed to feed snow from the main auger to a secondary impeller which directs the discharge far from the path of the unit. This minimizes “blowback” onto areas that have already been cleared, making the snow clearing process quicker and safer. The 3.5 hp. gasoline-fueled engine is pull-cord started, eliminating the “dead battery” issue which can occur at the worst possible time with an on-board starter equipped machine. Operation is very simple, utilizing standard Primer, Choke and Throttle controls. The engine normally starts within the first few pulls. For safety and convenience, a key switch is located in the handlebar panel. With the engine running, turning the key to the “Off”position will shut down the engine. Turning the key to the “On” position prior to operating the pull-cord recoil starter will enable the engine to start. Removing and securing the key while in the “Off” position will effectively guard against unauthorized usage. This TORO Snowthrower is equipped with three forward speeds to address varying densities of snow and walking speed preferences. It also has a Reverse gear for added maneuverability. Handlebar-mounted levers are used to engage both the driving mechanism as well as the auger operation. Being spring-loaded, they also provide an extra margin of safety as releasing the levers while in operation will disengage either the drive mechanism, the auger, or both. The discharge chute is controlled by a hand crank which is safely and conveniently located near the left hand grip. By operating the crank the discharge can be directed either fully left or fully right, or in any position in between. Additionally, the tip of the chute can be angled to allow snow to be discharged at varying heights and distances. The 12” diameter, 3-1/4” wide wheels incorporate solid rubber tires with a deep tread pattern. Being solid, rather than air-filled, flat tire concerns are eliminated. The wheels can also be fitted with tire chains, which are included as part of this sale, if the need or desire should arise. A complete Operator’s Manual is also included.
