I front the band Age Group, a Baroque/Psychedelic rock band, and I'm looking to build a band around the songs I've written at the link below. I'm no stranger to being in a band and currently work as a freelance producer for other indie rock and pop groups, so hoping to find some like-minded musicians that are eager to gig and passionate about creating a unique live performance. The band is crafted around influences drawn from baroque and psychedelic pop of the middle to late 60s. The Zombies, The Hollies, Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, The Left Banke, The Byrds, early Yes, etc. Please be familiar with some of these groups and what they bring to the table! Especially if you're a keyboard player, as some familiarity with classical harpsichord music/Bach is really helpful in playing some of these tunes. Nothing terribly complicated though! Even though I'm also eager to start playing gigs again, I'm happy to wait for the right fit for the group. The ideal candidate looks something like this: 1) 25-35 years old, though maturity is the real target here 2) Live in East LA 3) A healthy amount of performance experience >>> most important! 4) Some interest in music of the aforementioned era 5) Give a shit about art and expression through your performance 6) It's stupid but - gear that you actually care about 7) A willingness to learn the parts as written and make them yours 8) You're a good drinking buddy.
