Description
Do you love animals? Do you have reliable transportation? Would you like to earn supplementary income? Come join our team and get paid to have fun and do what you love!! We are an established pet sitting company looking for reliable, responsible, animal-loving individuals to join our team of pet care professionals. What we offer: Fun- Spend your days caring for, walking and loving on pets. Pet sitting is an active, engaging job. No sitting behind a desk. You'll get to exercise, enjoy the fresh air and help pet owners have peace of mind knowing that their pet is being lovingly cared for. Flexibility- As an independent contractor, you can set your own schedule. If you only want to work weekends or holidays, that's great. If you can only do midday walk visits during the week, that's fine too. You just tell us what works for you and we'll let you know when something becomes available during that time. Income- Pet sitting companies typically pay their sitters a percentage of what they earn from each completed visit. Almost all pet sitting companies start their sitters’ earning percentage around 40%. We start our sitters at 60% and increase that percentage by 2% for every year of service. We want to retain our sitters so that they can form long term relationships with our clients and their pets. We believe happy sitters make happy pets and even happier clients. In addition to the percentage, many clients tip their sitters generously, especially around the holidays. As an independent contractor, you will not have any taxes deducted from your pay. You will receive a Form 1099 at the end of each year and you will be responsible for paying your taxes at that time. You will be able to deduct certain expenses like transportation costs and home office expenses which can reduce or eliminate any taxes owed. Support- We have years of pet sitting experience and we are always available to answer your questions and offer guidance. We book all of your appointments and you can easily view your schedule on any smart phone or computer. You will also have access to all of the tools on our pet sitting software. We're looking for folks with: A Clean Background - This means no felonies and no first or second degree misdemeanors. No offenses involving theft or dishonesty. Reliable Transportation - You will have to use your own vehicle to travel to and from each visit. It is important that have access to a well-maintained, reliable vehicle so that you can complete each visit at the scheduled time. In the event a pet needs emergency treatment, you would need to have a way to transport them. For this reason, scooters and motorcycles are not acceptable. Experience - We need individuals that have experience caring for animals in some capacity, either professionally or as a long time pet owner. A Smart Phone with Internet Access - You will use our pet sitting software app to access your schedule, client information and to check in and out of visits. You must have reliable cellular and mobile internet service to complete your visits. An In-Town Address - We do most of our business on the north side of Atlanta above Interstate 20 and to the east of Interstate 75. Some of our busiest locations are Buckhead, Brookhaven, North Druid Hills and Sandy Springs. Sitters are assigned visits within a 7 mile radius of their home so you must live within a few miles of our service area. Reliability - This is so important. We are flexible with scheduling but once you commit to a client, we expect you to be there without question. It is very difficult to arrange for last minute fill-ins with back-up sitters who are likely unfamiliar with the home and pet. Good Moral Character - You will be in charge of people's beloved pets and keeping their homes and belongings safe. It's a big responsibility and not everyone can handle it. You are also expected to work alone, unsupervised and conduct yourself in a professional, ethical manner at all times. We expect our sitters to always behave as if their actions are being recorded on camera (which may actually be the case). Communication Skills - One of the most important aspects of pet sitting is communicating with the client. You must be able to put their mind at ease with constant updates and pictures of their pet. You will need to be able to write legibly as some visits will require you leave a note or a journal entry. You must be also be able to text and email updates to clients. If you meet the above criteria and are interested in being a professional pet sitter please respond via email with a resume or work history and the information below: 1. Your zip code. 2. Detail your experience with animals. 3. List your available days, times and whether or not you would be willing to work some holidays. We charge time and a half for holiday visits so it can be a very lucrative time, if you are available. 4. Would you be interested in regularly scheduled midday dog walks during the week? 5. Would you be available to do overnight stays at a client's home? Overnight stays typically last from 7pm to 7am the following day and pay $50+/night. 6. Your desired earnings per month.
