Calling all Dog Walkers! Our dogs need you!!! "My Dog Spot" is looking to hire a few new dog walkers for our team. You will also have the opportunity to assist and learn dog training from the My Dog Spot founder and master trainer. While we spend most of our time with our furry friends, we also pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships with our human clients. We maintain a strict professional work ethic at all times and we are looking for someone that will take pride in their work and invest in their clients. Some of our furry clients are a bit excitable on the leash and can holler out or even freakishly run up to greet fellow pups on the street, so we are ideally looking for a candidate that has a working knowledge of dogs and handling, although we do provide initial training. If you think you are the kind of person that can look out for your fellow walkers, have pride in the company you work for, and spend all day outdoors on the move, rain or shine, we want you to join our team. Responsibilities and Duties • You will be required to commute from one dog walking appointment to the next via your own car according to a set schedule. • You will be required to walk a leashed dog/s for a defined period of time either within the area that the dog lives or another previously determined location. • Each appointment will have a set guideline or series of instructions you will need to follow. • You may be required to handle more than one dog at a time. • You may be required to transport dogs in your vehicle. • You may be required to supervise dog park visits with more than one dog in attendance. • You may be required to hike with one or more dogs at an appointment. • You will be responsible for communicating with My Dog Spot management team after every appointment. • You may be required to pick up supplies and materials. • You may be required to drop off supplies and materials. • You may be required to engage one-on-one with clients. • You will be required to attend monthly staff meetings and training sessions. • You will be required to practice safe handling methods at all times according to the company handbook. • Responsibilities and duties may change according to position within the company. Necessary Requirements • You must have a reliable registered and insured car with a valid Driver License. No borrowed or loaned cars. • You must have a smart phone with photo/video capability and GPS - all our employees use our app for scheduling and to send updates to clients. • You must be punctual and organized - animals spend many hours alone in a crate or without access to the outside. You need to be respectful of their needs and be sure to be at your appointments on time. • You need to be excellent at providing outstanding customer service - your primary duties are to take the best care of clients' pets but you will still need to interact with pet owners in a professional and respectful manner. • You must be willing to get dirty - we walk in the rain and the heat, pick up poop and other pet messes. • You must adhere to COVID safe health guidelines at ALL times while on the job. Qualifications and Skills • Previous paid experience handling dogs is preferred but not required; Volunteer work will be considered.
