1) YOU ARE THE CLIENT AND 5% COMMISSION IS NEGOTIABLE. THERE ARE A LOT OF REALTORS THAT WORK FOR 2 AND 3%.
2) SELL YOUR PROPERTY FOR THE PRICE THAT YOU WANT, NOT WHAT THE REALTOR SUGGESTS.
IT MAKES VERY LITTLE DIFFERENCE TO A REALTOR, COMMISSION WISE, IF YOU SELL YOUR
PROPERTY FOR $20-50k LESS, BUT IT MEANS A LOT TO YOU.
3) YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SIGN A 6 MONTH CONTRACT. SIGN FOR 3 MONTHS AND NO RESIDUAL TIME THEREAFTER.
IT'S YOUR PROPERTY, SELL IT UNDER YOUR TERMS.
