Hi, my name is Phoenix. I am a 1+ year old half cattle dog/border collie. My first humans did not have a clue as to how to raise me or handle me so another loving and knowledgeable human came to my rescue. Before she came into my life I had been crated for up to 16 hours a day, I never had walks for more than 30 min. I didn't know what birds were and really had never been out at night. I was also hit a lot when I was bad so I don't trust humans and prefer to be with one person and not around children, they move to fast and really scare me. I had no idea what a great big world there is out there and I am in a much better place now. I have come a long way and am now looking for a forever home. More than anything, I need a home that gives me a job, although I have not been trained to officially herd my herding instinct is very strong and my highest value reward is to herd/play. I do well with almost all dogs and am really not so prey driven, I would most likely get along with other animals if there was a proper introduction. I am very smart and strong willed, I am not a beginner dog, pet nor an arm charm. I am 100% herding dog. I will only go to a home/new human who is well informed of my breed, my needs and understands the needs of dog with ptsd. I create very strong bond with my human and besides a job, this is all that I need. Will require an in person meeting, There is no re-homing fee or any other fee.
