How Wisconsin unionists built the state's progressive traditions and now seek to rebuild them.
Join with unionists, historians and others for the 40th Annual Conference of the Wisconsin Labor History Society. The conference features Naomi Williams, of Rutgers University Workers Centre, and a 2011 WLHS Legacy Award winner, who will be our Steve Meyer Memorial Lecturer. Other panel discussions will feature Milwaukee historian John Gurda, UW-Green Bay lecturer Jillian Jacklin on the "Rise, Decline and Future of Wisconsin Liberalism." Also, "Rebuilding a Progressive Movement," with State Representatives Kristina Shelton and Francesca Hong and another guest to be announced.
IMPORTANT: This conference will be held using recommendations of the CDC that are in effect at the time. The conference may be cancelled at any time, due to the pandemic. ALL CONFERENCE FEES WILL BE REFUNDED, if the conference is cancelled.
The Wisconsin Labor History Society, established 1981, is dedicated to preserving the history of workers and their unions, to educating the public about the role of workers and unions in society and to assuring that Wisconsin school children learn about labor history.
