Simple art projects in local parks Sept & Oct! A chance to leave the worries of the world behind and and relax into the arts! Together!
This week’s edition of AgeCelebration’s “LOVE [and the ARTS] in the time of COVID”. Let’s sit down together with wonderful local artist Dave Garbot and color one of his wonderfully whimsical black & white pieces, “Hillsboro Arts & Culture District”. We will relax together outdoors in Bagley Park, 201 NE Jackson St. in downtown Hillsboro, connect with Dave, his art, and with each other, and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with focusing our attention on a simple art activity outdoors together. Bring your own lawn chair; all art materials will be provided. Event is FREE but registration is required, limited to 10 people, we willl be spaced out 6’ apart, to keep everyone safe and healthy. Since humans first roamed the earth, the arts have helped humans mitigate the stressors and rigors of daily life. Each week during Sept & Oct, AgeCelebration in partnership with local artists will host simple community art projects outdoors for small groups of 10 people in beautiful green spaces throughout Hillsboro to relax into the healing nature of the arts. Registration will be required to limit numbers but these classes are all free. Participants will only need bring their own lawn chair; other than that, all art materials and art instruction will be provided.
“LOVE [and the ARTS] in the time of COVID” is part of AgeCelebration’s ongoing “Outdoors Arts Together (OATS)” community art initiative. Since 2003, AgeCelebration has been bringing people together to #createcommunity and foster belonging and connection, one community program at a time.
