Entry to Jefferson School African American Heritage Center During the pandemic we will be operating with limited hours. Our permanent exhibition Pride Overcomes Prejudice is available Tuesday -Friday 1pm-6pm and Saturday 10 am -1 pm. Our contemporary gallery is open with a new exhibition Robert Reed's Charlottesville on view September 25-December 26. To ensure we maintain a safe space we are limiting group visits to no more than 8 people. If you are a group and interested in a tour please contact our education department at [email protected]. The health and wellbeing of our community is our first priority by acquiring this ticket you confirm that you have not tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 14 days or been required to be in a quarantine during the last 7 days. You further affirm that you have not been in contact with anyone suspected of or diagnosed with COVID-19. I additionally attest that when I attend this in-person event, I am not experiencing any of the following symptoms; fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, or persistent pain in the chest. I also attest that I have not been out of the country or state within the last seven days. I agree to remain masked and socially distanced from attendees for the duration of my attendance. The Jefferson School African American Heritage Center’s mission is to honor and preserve the rich heritage and legacy of the African-American community of Charlottesville-Albemarle, Virginia and to promote a greater appreciation for, and understanding of, the contributions of African Americans and peoples of the Diaspora locally, nationally and globally.
