Description
“Cowboy” is a documentary about Wilbert Freeman McAlister, the President of the Oakland Black Cowboy Association.
Join us at Eli's on October 2nd for the premiere of "Cowboy" a documentary film about the life of Wilbert Freeman McAlister, President of the Oakland Black Cowboy Association, and the legacy of the Black Cowboys in the American West.
The evening will include a screening of the film, a Q&A session, a performance by Cowboy & His Sometimes Blues Band, raffles, DJ Fake Fruit on the 1s & 2s, and as Cowboy would say: "plenty of good, clean fun."
The OBCA has had to cancel their annual parade for the past two years due to the pandemic so let's come together and put on for this essential organization.
ALL PROFITS from ticket sales, raffle tickets, and 20% of food and drink sales will be donated to the Oakland Black Cowboy Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, to help them continue their mission of educating the public about the role of African American cowboys and the settling of the west.
