Stand with Asian Americans (SwAA) NY chapter is launching! Stand with Asian Americans (SwAA) New York chapter is launching! Come learn more and join our local chapter. Going beyond publishing a WSJ Ad and establishing a pledge in response to the violence against Asian-Americans, SwAA is launching local chapters throughout the country as part of our commitment to increase representation for AAPIs. Come hear how SwAA is building the next generation of AAPI activists to uplift our community. We'll host panel discussions on hate crime elimination, media representation and educational inclusiveness with prominent members of the community. In addition, learn about SwAA’s grant-making arm, the Catalyst Fund for Justice, and how we’re developing a new model for venture philanthropy. Be a part of discussions on how we plan to partner with The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), Leading Asian Americans to Unite for Change (LAAUNCH), APIAVote, Asian Hustle Network (AHN), other national AAPI’s organizations and the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center! SwAA Goals Over the Next Year: launch 10 chapters, secure 10k signatories, fund 10 catalyst projectsDuring this event, you’ll have the opportunity to: Sign-up for a task force that will research how to effectively direct money to the following AAPI’s causes: Hate Crime Elimination, Civic Engagement, Business Leadership, Education Inclusiveness, Media Representation and BIPOC Solidarity.Grants given so far to StopAAPIHate, AAPI Women Lead and NAPAWF, Asian Americans Advancing Justice and Association for Asian American Studies.Volunteer or be involved in a steering committee for the: CEO & Celebrity Golf Charity Tournament in 2022AAPI Summit in 2022We are asking attendees to provide proof of vaccination upon entry as food and drinks will be served. We also advise folks to wear masks in indoor areas of the event space.
