In this two hour workshop, you will be shown how to make a set of mugs and a bowl What You Get 1 Bowl and 1 bowl to fire / 2hr session with our tutor / all materials/firings In this two-hour workshop, you will be guided step by step to make a set of mugs. This is a great introduction to hand-building with clay and is just enough time to gain an understanding of the material and make something you’ll be proud of After the session, you will leave your pieces with us, and we will fire them. We will dip your pieces in a beautiful clear glaze. They should take about three weeks to process. You can pick them up on Friday Nights(7pm-10pm) or on Saturdays(2 pm - 10pm) If however, you would prefer to come back to glaze your mugs yourself we can book you for a Paint Your Own Pottery Session which takes place a few times a week. Color Cocktail Factory is the domain of artists with MFA grads from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago who work as professional painters, illustrators, and printmakers. These artists started Color Cocktail Factory as a way to share their knowledge with novice practitioners in a laid-back environment. But they know that for less-experienced paint slingers, the idea of coating a whole canvas can be wildly intimidating, especially if their third and fourth arms have yet to grow in. So they encourage students to drink, organizing social BYOB lessons where students work on the same guided project. At the end of the session, well-hydrated pupils take home their very own paintings, which might be a sugar-skull portrait, a landscape, or the recreation of a famous masterpiece.
