DeSoto H.O. P. E. (Healing Opportunities for Personal Empowerment) The City of DeSoto will host a community mental health information forum on Thursday, September 30th from 6 to 9 pm at the DeSoto Civic Center. This forum is called DeSoto H.O.P.E. (Healing, Opportunities for Personal Empowerment) and will feature a keynote address by Dr. Gloria Morrow, one of the nation’s leading clinical psychologists. Dr. Morrow is an academician, clinician and author, her teaching counseling and books have helped thousands of people find true inner healing. Dr. Morrow’s presentation will be followed by breakout sessions in General Mental Health and Developmental disorders presented by MetroCare, Identifying Suicide and Self-Harm Signs in adolescents presented by DeSoto ISD, Caregiver Mental Health presented by DeSoto Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, De-escalation in Dementia Interactions presented by Hickory Trail Hospital, and Tools for Anger Management presented by Committed to Change.
