Description

Taste and learn about the wines of Emilia-Romagna with Anita Bender! Covering a vast swath of central Italy, Emilia-Romagna is a vast, fertile region with a history of wine-making dating back to the 7th century BC. Despite this pedigree, few wines from this region receive much adulation on the international wine scene. The wine that is most recognized, Lambrusco, often conjures up negative images of cheap, overly sweet bottes like the dreaded Riunite. We shall endeavor to rectify both the relative anonymity of the region, and the negative image foisted on Lambrusco by industrial producers. In this class our own wine expert, Anita Bender, will explore the wonderfully varied wines of Emilia-Romagna. From the famous and incorrectly maligned Lambrusco, to natural wines from cutting edge producers, to classically styled wines from International and Italian varieties, you will find a broad array of flavors and styles of wines, befitting a region so large and varied. So please join us as we taste our way through another of the world’s great wine regions. COVID-19 Protocols: While we are excited to resume hosting events, we are aware of the risk that remains from COVID-19. Because of this, we are asking that all attendees provide proof of vaccination when they come to the class. The nature of our event makes social distancing and masking impractical, so until advice changes, our classes will be limited to vaccinated customers only. Must be 21+ to attend.
