Q&A with director Cathy Lee Crane and music composer Beth Custer!
Tucson Film & Music Festival 2021 Centerpiece Film! World Premiere!!History haunts the border town of Columbus, N.M. as every year Mexican riders on horseback travel hundreds of miles to commemorate Pancho Villa’s 1916 raid on the town, which left 10 civilians, eight 13th Cavalry soldiers, and more than 100 Villistas dead. This annual event is heralded as promoting friendship between the US and Mexico but on both sides of the border tensions run the gamut. As the townspeople grapple with the historical event that shapes Columbus’s very identity, the tale of Crossing Columbus emerges in the week leading up to the event with bilingual stories from both sides of the border.
