• Statistically, a person who owns a handgun is seven times more likely to die by gunshot than those who do not own guns. Sadly, statistics seem of little importance to the fearful gun holder, who places his faith in a machine designed solely for taking the life of a human. I would be very interested in seeing these stats...your sourcce?....and does that differentiate between legally owned and illegally owned guns? I bet not, huge difference. Sadly, gun control nuts seem to always have statistics, but never a source for them....fear of the truth, like for instance, is it really true that they are solely deigned for kiling someone only? Really? Think Olympics • While the United States holds ≈ 5% of the world's population, it possesses 46% of all handguns. Does that make us a safer nation? Hardly. We are fifth (per capita) in death by gunshot, only falling behind the chaotic Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, and Venezuela. Then why not spend some of this emotion and effort at making changes to the Democratic leadership in these worn torn cities? It's not NRA members killing all those black children now is it? You think taking the guns away from the good guys is going to make this nation safer? Really??? • How did we get here? Partly by a bastardized interpretation of the 2nd Amendment, written at a time when we were subjects of the British Empire, had no armed forces, no local, state or national law enforcement agencies, and even an arms/ammunition embargo enforced by naval blockade ordered by King George. We certainly no longer have need of a "A well regulated Militia." So at what point do you think we, as a people can be sure that there will never be a tyrannical government? You are aware that is the point to a militia right? Do you actually think that in these days and times we are further from the need to have that assurance? Really? • Don't get me wrong. I understand your fear. Media, especially the news media feeds upon our fears, and makes millions by sponsors who know that bad news sells, good news is ignored or dismissed. But your faith is placed in a "false god." I can assure you I have survived on this planet > 72 years, never owning a firearm. I can also assure you I have never in life been in a situation where my life depended on my (or your) firearm. It is more a matter of using good common sense and a bit of caution than owning a machine that in a moment of fear or passion may take your or my life. LOL My fear? I assure you, I fear only God. Which I see you do not. Good for you, but I fail to see why that is even an issue here. Seems there is fear there on your part or why would you have brought up something you do not even think exists? I'm glad you have lived a life relatively void of violence. But for you to classify me in your very narrow minded world is ridiculous and ignorant at best. You're one of those who would be saying, but for the good grace of God, "I never thought this could happen to me" So now you feel because that's your opinion...we ALL should abide by it.....fat chance, I'm keeping mine
