Hello and welcome! We are the San Francisco division of the Original Giron Escrima Federation. My name is Evan Rubin, certified to teach the OGE system under GM Michael Giron, son of GME Leovigildo "Leo" Miguel Giron. Leo applied this system of martial combat in the jungles of the Philippines during WWII, eventually deciding to teach Escrima as self defense back home in Northern California. We focus on weapon based self defense, learning to fight with both blade and stick with a special focus on edged weapons. We train safely in an encouraging environment and utilize the martial techniques solely for self defense. We also integrate conditioning and cardio into our training sessions providing a well rounded workout. I am currently offering weekly group classes and private lessons upon request.
