HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The Korean Royal Court Art Exhibit will be open for viewing Sept. 22 through Oct. 20. The exhibit features a collection of more than 30 works from featuring scrolls, fans and paintings to small sculptures. They are in the style of the Royal Court of the Chosun Dynasty (also spelled Joseon) which lasted from 1392 - 1897.
The exhibit is being presented in partnership with the Asian Art Collective gallery in Ellicott City's historic district. It will be held at the Howard County Welcome Center.
Featured artists include:
Munsong Lee holds titles, Master of Korean Folk Painting certified by Korea Masters Association, Artisan of Korean Royal Court painting certified by Haneol Culture Art Museum, state-authorized Inheritor of Korean Royal Court Painting, President of International Korean Royal Court Painting Association, and Chief Professor of the Korean Court Painting & Folk Painting Department of Kyung Hee University. Yirang Kim holds titles, Representative of Siheung City Local Folk Preservation Society, Republic of Korea Master in rice straw grass craft, and National Skilled Expert recognized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Garam Jeon holds titles, Assistant Administrator of Siheung City Local Folk Preservation Society and Disciple of Yirang Kim.
