Lost Hills Sheriff's Deputy Killed In High-Speed Crash

CALABASAS, CA — A Lost Hills Sheriff's Department deputy who investigators say was driving a Shelby Cobra "at a high rate of speed" lost control of the roadster and crashed early Thursday in Temple City, leaving the deputy dead and his female passenger injured. The crash was reported at 2:10 a.m. on Santa Anita Avenue north of Freer Street, according to the California Highway Patrol. Cameron Blaine Fish, 33, of Temple City, died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office. Fish was a sheriff's deputy, according to the sheriff's department. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Deputy Cameron Fish who was involved in a single-vehicle traffic accident and succumbed to his injuries on 9/16/21. Her condition was initially listed as "critical" by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. According to the CHP's preliminary report, Fish was driving a 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 north on Santa Anita "at a high rate of speed." "Due to (his) unsafe speed, he was unable to safely negotiate a curve in the roadway," according to the CHP. "The Cobra roadster veered to the left, off the road and onto a center median, striking a raised street sign and a light pole. The impact caused (him) to be ejected from his vehicle. ... It is unknown if either of the occupants were wearing their seat belts or if alcohol and/or drugs are a factor in this crash."
