Hi There :) My name is Christopher Brown. I’m 34 years old and have been a working, traveling musician for 6 years. Music has taken me all over this country several times. My musical journey began when I dropped out of college at Penn State University at 20 years old. Prior to that, I had no music experience. I was a division one athlete at the time for one of the best track and field programs in the country. However, I wasn’t happy, and for some reason I was drawn to the guitar. I told my parents to give me 3 years and that I would get into either Juilliard or Berklee College of Music. Sure enough almost exactly 3 years later I was accepted in Berklee College of Music. Since then, I’ve traveled to almost every state playing music. I’ve put on concerts for the companies Patagonia, and Fjall Raven. I’ve been a part of concerts will Bill Evans, Elvis Costello, Joan Jett, and Mike Stern. I’ve worked with a record label in LA making music for TV and advertising. And My own journey continues! A huge part of my life is inspiring other people to get into music. I love supporting others in their artistic and soulful expressions! I want everyone to know that you can have an amazing life with music by your side. Everyone has an inner musician, and everyone has access to it. Whether you just want to play for fun and learn some songs, or you have dreams of making a living as an artists, I’m here to let you know it’s all possible. I have 20 students now of all ages from 4 to 65. I teach beginning piano, beginning and intermediate mandolin, beginning bass, beginning and intermediate banjo, all levels ukulele, and all levels guitar. If you have any desire to learn an instrument, I’m here to tell you that it’s all possible! No matter your age, no matter your previous musical abilities, no matter what anyone’s ever told you, everything you want through music is waiting for you if you want to embark on that journey. More than anything learning music is about having fun! It’s not about endless hours of practice, and it doesn’t have to be a grind. I will show you what’s worked for me through trial and error and I will be right by your side to cheer you on the whole way :) How lessons with me work is that once we set up a time, I drive to your home and we work together in the comfort of your own space :) I offer both 30 minute and 60 minute lessons. My rates are 100 dollars per hour or 50 dollars per half hour. Please reach out if learning an instrument is something you’re being called to.
