Job description String Repair Technician (Apprenticeship) Cassandra Strings is currently seeking a full-time string repair technician that has an interest in assisting with orchestral string instrument repairs. The job would entail inspection, set-up, and minor repairs. We are a full range orchestral strings dealer (violin, viola, cello, bass), from student to master level instruments and offer a complete in-house repair shop. Job Description The String repair position will be responsible for various duties, including but not limited to: New instrument inspection and set-up Student level instrument repair and restoration including repairs of cracks, open seams, and minor tonal adjustments Inventory control of rental fleet On-site training is provided. However, applicants who have prior experience with woodworking will be preferred. This is a great chance to learn a career in string instrument repair and restoration with room for advancement. Qualified applicants should have the following skills and experience: Ability to play violin, viola, cello or bass Have experience in woodworking Strong work ethic with focus on customer service and quality control Ability to sit or stand for extended period of time Must be able to lift over 50lbs Ability to accomplish tasks with minimum supervision Good attitude and strong interpersonal skills; will be required to communicate effectively with customers, staff, and management Compensation and Benefits: Compensation is hourly based with overtime as needed Retirement with company match Heath Insurance stipend Paid vacation and personal time
